We learned about Habbi Habbi at the Los Angeles Festival of Books and our children (5, 3 and 1) immediately fell in love with their books. All three of our children intuitively understood how to use the wand, and immediately began reading and listening to the text. We bought a mixed bundle of Korean and Mandarin books and flashcards, and our children have used them every day since (which has been 2 months). We speak English and Spanish at home, so Korean and Mandarin are both new languages for all of us. Our 5 and 3 year old are picking up the languages very quickly just by using the wand with the books for a few minutes each day on their own. My husband and I are learning with and from them (they correct us on our pronunciation and use of phrases, reminding us that while it's never too late to learn a new language, the brain is much better at absorbing when you're a toddler). They've shared their newly acquired Korean phrases with native Korean speakers and everyone has been so impressed. A friend of ours who is from Korea says that their accent is spot on and makes them sound like they are native speakers. She has an 18 month old son whom she's teaching Korean and has decided to buy the Korean set for him to assist with his language development. Our five year old is also able to distinguish between Korean and Mandarin characters and points out when signs are in Korean or Mandarin when we're driving through Koreatown and Chinatown. Our 1 year old (13 months) who knows about 10 words in English and Spanish, loves to use the wand with the books, too. We were so impressed with how quickly our children began to learn Korean and Mandarin that we decided to buy a Spanish set to help strengthen their Spanish, as well. We've recommended Habbi Habbi to everyone we know with children. It's an excellent product that is yielding great results for our family. With more practice and exposure to these languages through real life immersion, I'm confident that our littles will become fluent because of the foundation they are getting with these materials.
