Product-listings

Many remark how ‘global’ our product set is and ask ‘How did you choose and find them?’ We explored the toy universe … attended trade fairs, reviewed ‘best of’ lists, hunted for newcomers and looked at old favorites. In total, we researched over 2000 brands and reached out only to those whose products and stories aligned with our 9 values. These you see here are those whose stories spoke to us and whose products enable a conversation or experience for our kids (and us!) We hope you like them as much as we do.

What I am

A family of technology kits that reinvent the way kids learn, so they can grow to be tomorrow’s changemakers!

My kits are a system of electronic building blocks that snap together to turn ideas into inventions. I enable a build-it-yourself culture, am gender neutral, have real world application, and support lifelong skills to prepare kids for the future of work, STEAM, and modular systems.

My 3 featured invention kits are:

  1. Electronic Music Inventor Kit: Encourages kids to build and customize a rockin’ synth guitar and more musical inventions

  2. Space Rover Inventor Kit: Helps kids understand the competitive space race by creating inventions like an alien life detector

  3. Base Inventor Kit: Challenges kids to create their own inventions to improve their home, community, and environment

How I work

I leverage inspiring stories of young inventors to get kids excited about STEAM; kids work with me in three parts:

  1. Create: Kids can make a synth guitar, robotic hand, or planetary rover

  2. Play: Remix inventions with step-by-step video instructions from the free app

  3. Invent: Build a completely new design using inspiration from the app

My story

I was created in 2011 by Ayah Bdeir, a (female) leader in the ‘Maker’ & ‘Internet of Things’ movement. Ayah grew up taking things apart to see what was inside, which led her to study and/or work at MIT, NYU, Parsons School of Design, TED and Disney. She created me with the goal of ‘breaking down technologies so that anyone - no matter age, gender, race, or nationality - can build, prototype, and invent.’

Humble brag - I have sold millions of kits in over 70 countries and have won more than 150 awards - including The Toy Association’s 2018 Creative Toy of the Year, Common Sense Education’s ‘2018 Top Pick for Learning,’ CNN’s ‘Top 10 Startups to Watch,’ and one of CNBC’s ‘Next List’!
