Habbi Habbi

Many remark how ‘global’ our product set is and ask ‘How did you choose and find them?’ We explored the toy universe … attended trade fairs, reviewed ‘best of’ lists, hunted for newcomers and looked at old favorites. In total, we researched over 2000 brands and reached out only to those whose products and stories aligned with our 9 values. These you see here are those whose stories spoke to us and whose products enable a conversation or experience for our kids (and us!) We hope you like them as much as we do.

I am from: Boulder, Colorado

I play with: 6-12 year old friends

My values: Fundamentals, Creativity, Self Reliance

Code: BEHABBI $20 off any order of $50+

What I am

I teach kids how to code by sending crazy fun app-building projects in the mail every month. Each box has a kid-friendly theme and introduces a new computer science concept. The projects and challenges build on each other, so the longer kids code with me, the more they learn!

How I work

Kids use the projects in the box to code apps on the Bitsbox website. They start by coding from the examples provided and progress quickly to inventing their own apps! Once coded, their apps work on real phones and tablets.

My story

My founders are both dads and former Google employees: Scott and Aidan. In 2014, Scott’s 7-year-old daughter asked him what he did at work. Explaining his job as an engineer inspired Scott to create a tool that taught kids type-based coding. Today, the Bitsbox team is made of 10 men and women, with backgrounds in coding, fine arts, biology, theater, graphic design, engineering, architecture, business, and literature. Who says coding is only for computer scientists?
